Ok, by now you have heard about Led Zeppelin’s benefit concert. I’ve seen some clips and I have to say that Robert Plant and the boys still rock and look great.
Plant, 59, is a little grayer but still sports his long blond locks. Jimmy Page, 63, looks like Doc Brown’s rockin brother and can still play a heavy chord. Bassist John Paul Jones was invited back to play while drummer John Bonham’s son, Jason filled in. Since Bonham died in 1980, the group ceased touring together.
Their Set List:
Tickets originally cost $254 and were available through a ballot to fans who registered at http://www.ahmettribute.com. The site had more than a million entries and 25 million hits and crashed as about 80,000 fans a minute clicked on it. One fan reportedly paid $168,000 for a ticket.
The concert footage is creating a big hoopla on YouTube now according to PC World:
Video clips of legendary rock band Led Zeppelin’s reunion show in London on Monday are reappearing hourly on YouTube despite efforts to remove the material due to alleged copyright infringement. YouTube warns users in its “help center” that they may not own the rights to upload concert footage to its site.
Some links to videos of the band’s performance lead to a red warning that says the video has been removed “due to a copyright claim by Warner Music Group.”
Fans are screaming for more – a world tour.
Webistes are rumoring an American tour but I’ll believe that when tickets actually go on sale.
See more pictures from the Daily Mail.
Visit the group’s website too – very vintage of their rock days.
Guess I need to start saving now just in cast they SHOULD come to Madison Square Garden.
