Queen Elizabeth II

England’s Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Phillip will arrive in Virginia today for a 5 day U.S. visit. She’s mainly here to mark the 400th anniversary of the settlers in Jamestown. The 81-year old Queen’s last visit to the United States was 16 years ago.

Her schedule includes: an address to the Virgina Assembly, private visitation with Virginia Tech survivors, a horse-drawn carriage ride through Colonial Williamsburg, NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, the National World War II Memorial, the Kentucky Derby, and a visit and dinner with First Lady Laura Bush and the President. The Queen’s full event schedule can be seen on the British Monarchy website.

On another note, if you haven’t seen The Queen, rent it this weekend!
